Qualiy education

As a future teacher, I recognise the importance of education and the impact it has on society.

I have mentioned in other posts the imbalance that exists in the world, but now I want to emphasise that it is especially in the world of education.

In many countries the fundamental rights of children are not respected. Unfortunately they do not receive a quality education. In underdeveloped and developing countries, they do not have the necessary resources to be able to get a proper education.

On top of that, the situation we are currently in because of Covid-19 is not helping at all. Schools in many countries do not have the necessary hygienic conditions, which is essential to cope with this problem. 

In addition, many children have been left out of school as a result of school closures. Not to mention all those who cannot afford online education.

Ultimately, my point is that we need to be aware that now more than ever, these countries need our help.

I know that this problem is very complicated to solve, but... How can we do our part?

Thinking for a while, I have come to the conclusion that we have more than enough resources and by making donations, we could help them in a big way. 

In many schools, we have lots of computers, projectors, digital whiteboards, which are in complete disuse. We also have a lot of surplus school equipment, which could be put to better use if we gave it to those countries. 

On the other hand, material resources are not the only thing we can offer. We also have highly qualified teachers.

In the teaching degree, we do a lot of internships with young children in their schools. As a proposal to solve this problem, I have come up with the idea of proposing a kind of "Erasmus" in those countries. 

It would be something similar to volunteering, but here most of the students would participate. I think that in this way, the future teachers would also benefit a lot, working in a more difficult context than ours. We would learn from other cultures and we would value the resources we have.

In other words, it would serve both: to help these countries and to raise awareness among future teachers.

I decided to write first on this topic because education is a basic pillar of society. It is the point of control of future minds. That is why the future society of the world is in the hands of us, the future teachers.
